'Krasniye Vorota' is a station of Sokonicheskaya Line in Moscow Subway system situated between stations 'Komsomolskaya' and 'Chistiye Prudy'. The station has been founded on May 15, 1935 as a part of the first district of Moscow subway system from 'Sokolniki' to 'Park Kultury' with a branch from 'Ohotnii Ryad' to 'Smolenskaya' and has been named according to the square of the same name. The station has two vestibules. Both of them are ground-based. From these vestibules you can exit to Sadovoye Koltso (rus. Садовое Кольцо, eng. Garden Ring), Ploshad Krasniye Vorota (rus. Площадь Красные Ворота, eng. Red Gate Square), Novaya Basmannaya Ulitsa (rus. Новая Басманная улица, eng. New Basman Street), Boyarsky pereulok (rus. Боярский переулок, eng. Boyarsky Lane), Kalanchyovskaya Ulitsa (rus. Каланчёвская улица, eng. Maypole Street). Number of retiring passengers per day is 51,7 thousand, number of entering passengers per day is 51,9 thousand. 'Krasniye Vorota' is a pylon trivault deep station (the depth is 31 meters). In the station decoration there is something repeating the theme of Red Gate. For example, the pylons are faced with brown and red marble-like limestone. At the pylons we can see some niches faced with light, grayish marble. The track walls are faced with goldish and yellow-pink marble-like limestone. The floor is faced with gray and black granite slabs settled in chessboard order.
