'Universitet' is a station of Sokonicheskaya Line in Moscow Subway system situated between stations 'Vorobyovy Gory' and 'Prospekt Vernadskogo'. The station has been founded on January 12, 1959 as a part of the stage from 'Sportivnaya' to 'Universitet' and has been called due to the closeness of Moscow State University. The station has two ground-based round entrance vestibules. The first one is situated on Ploshad Dzhavaharlala Neru (rus. Площадь Джавахарлала Неру, eng. Jawaharlal Nehru Square), near the crossing of Prospekt Vernadskogo (rus. Проспект Вернадского, eng. Vernadsky Avenue) and Lomonosovsky Prospekt (rus. Ломоносовский Проспект, eng. Lomonosov Avenue). The second one is situated on the other side of Prospekt Vernadskogo. Number of retiring passengers per day is 69,0 thousand, number of entering passengers per day is 73,9 thousand. 'Universitet' is a pylon trivault deep station (the depth is 26,5 meters). The diameter of the central hall is 9,5 meters, the diameter of the station side halls is 8,5 meters. The station pylons, quite massive ones, arefaced with light marble. The station front wall is also faced with this marble. The track walls are faced with glazed ceramic tiles, with white ones in the top of the walls and with black ones in the bottom. The floor is covered with gray and pink granite.
