'Prospekt Vernadskogo' is a station of Sokonicheskaya Line in Moscow Subway system situated between stations 'Universitet' and 'Yugo-Zapadnaya'. The station has been founded on December 30, 1963 as a part of the stage from 'Universitet' to 'Yugo-Zapadnaya' and has been called according to the avenue of the same name. The station has two vestibules situated on Prospekt Vernadskogo. The first one, which is ground-based, is situated near the Park 50-letiya Oktyabrya (rus. Парк 50-летия Октября, eng. Park of the October Revoluthion 50th Anniversary), the second one, which is underground, is situated near "Zvyozdniy" (rus. "Звёздный", eng. "Star") cinema theater and big bus stop. Number of retiring passengers per day is 71,2 thousand, number of entering passengers per day is 69,79 thousand. 'Prospekt Vernadskogo' is a column trispan shallow station (the depth is 8 meters). There are two lines of columns on the station. Each line has 40 columns. The step of the columns is 4 meters, the distance between the lines is 5,9 meters. The columns are faced in yellowish Ural marble, and the track walls are tiled with stripes of yellow and blue. The vestibule on the north-east end of the platform contains a bust of the station's namesake, Vladimir Vernadsky. The floor is faced with gray and black granite. The lamps illuminating the station are hidden in the ribbed ceiling.
