'Preobrazhenskaya Ploshad' is a station of Sokonicheskaya Line in Moscow Subway system situated between stations 'Cherkizovskaya' and 'Sokolniki'. The station has been founded on December 31, 1965 as a part of the district from 'Sokolniki' to 'Preobrazhenskaya Ploshad' and has been named according to the square which has the same name. And this square has been named due to the former village which was situated near this place. Also we can admit that this station was the line terminus for nearly thirty five years. The station has two exits. From the eastern one you can exit to Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya Ulitsa (rus. Большая Черкизовская улица, eng. Great Cherkizovo Street) through the underground pedestrian crosswalk, from the northern one — to Ulitsa Stromynka (rus. Улица Стромынка, eng. Stromynka Street). Number of retiring passengers per day is 66,0 thousand, number of entering passengers per day is 60,1 thousand. 'Preobrazhenskaya Ploshad' is a column trispan shallow station (the depth is 8 meters). The station has two lines of columns with 40 columns in each line (standard project). The distance between two neighboring columns in the line is 4 meters. The track walls are faced with aluminium panels and black marble (in their bottom). The columns are faced with green marble. The floor is faced with red and gray granite, and also with white marlbe around the columns.
