'Ohotnii Ryad' is a station of Sokonicheskaya Line in Moscow Subway system situated between stations 'Lubyanka' and 'Biblioteka Imeni Lenina'. The station has been founded on May 15, 1935 as a part of the first district of Moscow subway system from 'Sokolniki' to 'Park Kultury' with a branch from 'Ohotnii Ryad' to 'Smolenskaya' and has been named according to the street of the same name. The station is a transfer to station 'Teatralnaya' of Zamoskvoretskaya Line. The transfer is established from the center of the station hall and also through the combined eastern vestibule which is situated on Teatralnaya Ploshad (rus. Театральная Площадь, eng. Theater Square). The western vestibule exits to Manezhnaya Ploshad (rus. Манежная Площадь, eng. Manege Square) and to the trade center under this square. Also there is a station called 'Ploshad Revolutsii' which is a part of this transfer junction, but you can get there from 'Ohotnii Ryad' only through the hall of station 'Teatralnaya' (there's no straight transfer between 'Ohotnii Ryad' and 'Ploshad Revolutsii'). Number of retiring passengers per day is 95,0 thousand, number of entering passengers per day is 97,3 thousand. 'Ohotnii Ryad' is a pylon trivault deep station (the depth is 35 meters). The station has very massive double multi-faceted pylons faced with white and gray marble. The track walls are faced with white glazed ceramic tiles. The floor is faced with gray granite. The station hall is illuminated with some spherical lamps mounted on the station ceiling. In the eastern anteroom of the station there's a mosaic portrait of Karl Marx.
